Synopsis

A small shoe repair shop in a quaint Irish village, pre-Celtic Tiger era.

Terry, a shoemaker, spends his days fixing shoes and his nights singing with The Cavalcaders, a barbershop quartet comprising his friends Josie, Rory, and Ted. Amidst their harmonies, Terry is haunted by past betrayals, especially his tumultuous relationship with Nuala, which casts a shadow over his current life. As the group navigates personal heartaches and the complexities of friendship, the redemptive power of their music becomes a poignant escape from their daily struggles.

The Cavalcaders by Billy Roche is a tender and comic memory play that delves into themes of companionship, heartache, and the enduring spirit of community. Through its rich, character-driven narrative, the play captures the essence of small-town life and the intricate emotional landscapes of its inhabitants.
