Synopsis

A bustling London nightclub, where the pulsing beats of dance music provide the backdrop for a group of twenty-somethings navigating the complex waters of relationships, identity, and self-discovery

Frank, a charming but often insensitive young man, sits at the centre of a web of romantic entanglements and friendships. The play follows Frank and his friends as they move through various London locales – nightclubs, pubs, cars, and shops – engaging in witty, rapid-fire dialogue about their romantic pursuits, personal insecurities, and attempts to find meaning in their lives. Frank’s interactions with women, including Cherry, Emma, and Pippa, reveal his conflicted attitudes towards relationships and his struggle to understand the opposite sex.

Nick Grosso’s Peaches is a sharp, witty exploration of youth culture and gender dynamics in 1990s London. Through its fragmented structure and pop culture-laden dialogue, the play captures the energy and confusion of a generation caught between adolescence and adulthood. Themes of sexual politics, identity, and the search for authenticity are woven throughout, as the characters grapple with their desires and the societal expectations placed upon them.
