Synopsis

A dimly lit street corner in a working-class neighbourhood of Northern Ireland, mid-1990s

Dave and Barry, two teenage boys on the cusp of adulthood, navigate the treacherous waters of first love, loyalty, and violence in their close-knit community. As they pursue relationships with Angela and Kerry, the boys find themselves embroiled in a dangerous feud with the volatile Chopper and his gang. Their attempts to assert themselves and protect their girlfriends lead to a brutal confrontation that shatters their innocence and forces them to confront the harsh realities of their world.

Coyle’s Corner Boys is an exploration of masculinity, violence, and coming of age in a society where aggression often masquerades as strength. Through sharp dialogue and richly drawn characters, the play captures the bravado, vulnerability, and confusion of youth caught in a cycle of retribution.
