Synopsis

Lisa, a 25-year-old beautiful and educated woman, and Damian, a 30-year-old attractive hustler, are the central figures in Michaela Spencer’s intense and dramatic play “Cabin Fever.” Set at the secluded Island Blues resort in Jamaica, the play explores the turbulent dynamics of their relationship as they grapple with financial troubles, personal conflicts, and external threats. The narrative unfolds in a modestly furnished bamboo-style cabin, capturing the essence of their secluded and fraught environment. As the story progresses, characters like Aunt Nicolette, Big Kon, and others enter their lives, adding layers of complexity and tension to the unfolding drama.

The play delves into themes of love, betrayal, and survival. It is a drama with elements of dark comedy and social realism, structured in a linear narrative that highlights the intense and often volatile interactions between the characters. The setting of the rustic cabins on a picturesque cliffside in Jamaica serves as a stark contrast to the emotional and financial turmoil faced by Lisa and Damian.
