Abhishek Majumdar is an Indian playwright and director based in Bangalore, originally from Delhi. He writes in English, Hindustani (Hindi/Urdu), and Bangla. Abhishek has written and produced several plays at the Royal Court Theatre, including The Djinns Of Eidgah, Pah-La, and The Ocean, a short audio play on climate change.

He is the artistic director of the Indian Ensemble and has received numerous accolades for his work, including the Metro Plus Playwriting Award for Harlesden High Street and the Best Play Award at the Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards for Gasha. His other notable plays include Rizwaan, Lucknow, An Arrangement of Shoes, and Afterlife of Birds.

Abhishek is also a Visiting Professor at Abu Dhabi and New York Universities and has published in the areas of mathematics, environmental economics, and chemistry.
