Synopsis

A cramped radio studio in a bustling Arab neighborhood becomes the unlikely stage for cultural collision and personal revelation.

Felix Thunder, an American radio host with a hidden Arab heritage, finds himself trapped in a conservative neighborhood as riots engulf the capital. Desperate to reclaim his lost career, Felix reluctantly teams up with Rima, a precocious young girl, to create an underground community radio show. As neighbors begin to share their long-suppressed stories on air, Felix is forced to confront his own prejudices and the complex cultural identity he’s spent a lifetime denying.

Voiceless explores belonging, identity, and the power of shared stories. Zawawi’s play pulses with dark humour and raw emotion as it examines the tension between tradition and modernity in the Arab world. Through Felix’s journey from detached outsider to reluctant community pillar, the play interrogates the nature of cultural assimilation and the human need for connection.
