Synopsis

A bare circle of chairs. The air thick with anticipation, as a community awaits the end of the world.

Total Immediate Collective Imminent Terrestrial Salvation follows Sol, a young woman raised in an apocalyptic cult founded by her father Miles, as she prepares for the moment of “terrestrial salvation” predicted in his prophetic book. When Anna, a figure from Sol’s past, arrives to challenge the cult’s beliefs, the play becomes a tense exploration of faith, family, and the power of storytelling.

Crouch’s innovative form blurs the lines between audience and performer, as spectators are given copies of Miles’ book and invited to read along. Through this participatory structure, the play examines themes of collective belief, indoctrination, and the human need for meaning in the face of an uncertain world. As the promised moment approaches, Total Immediate Collective Imminent Terrestrial Salvation asks: how do we distinguish truth from fiction when our very reality is shaped by the stories we choose to believe?
