Synopsis

An abandoned farmhouse deep in the heart of Dartmoor’s frozen forest, where the past and present collide.

West, a man with a mysterious past, has taken refuge in a derelict farmhouse. His solitude is disrupted by the arrival of Wally and Patsy, old acquaintances from London with unclear motives. As the three men engage in a tense reunion, Lue, a young girl living in the house, becomes entangled in their dangerous history.

Butterworth’s play unfolds across three winters, weaving together themes of power, loyalty, and redemption. Through a series of revelations and confrontations, the characters grapple with their shared past and uncertain future. The isolated setting serves as both refuge and prison, amplifying the psychological intensity of the characters’ interactions.
