Synopsis
A diverse neighbourhood in Battersea, South West London, where tensions simmer beneath the surface of everyday life.
In the wake of an alleged assault on a young Asian girl, the lives of several residents on and around the Westbridge estate intertwine and unravel. Soriya, a British-Pakistani woman, finds her relationship with Marcus, a mixed-race man, challenged by cultural expectations and societal pressures. Meanwhile, Andre, a young Black teenager, becomes embroiled in a controversy that threatens to tear the community apart.
De-lahay’s play explores the complexities of multicultural Britain, examining issues of identity, belonging, and prejudice through the lens of a vibrant, yet fractured community. As rumours and misinformation spread, characters are forced to confront their own biases and question their place in a rapidly changing society.
