Synopsis

A rural Irish pub on a windy night, where the boundaries between the natural and supernatural blur.

In a remote Irish pub, Jack, Brendan, Jim, and Finbar welcome Valerie, a newcomer from Dublin. As they drink and chat, the men share increasingly unnerving ghost stories. The evening takes a poignant turn when Valerie reveals her own haunting tale of loss and grief, prompting Jack to open up about his past regrets.

McPherson’s play weaves together supernatural folklore and deeply human experiences of loneliness, regret, and connection. Through the characters’ storytelling, the play explores how the past haunts the present and how shared vulnerability can forge unexpected bonds. The pub setting becomes a liminal space where the line between the living and the dead, the real and the imagined, becomes delightfully blurred.
