Synopsis

A Photographers studio in South Africa during the Apartheid

A man enters Style’s photography studio with a specific purpose: to have his photo taken for a letter to his wife. As we observe, this man, Sizwe Bansi, an economic migrant, carefully crafts his letter. In it, he unveils a startling truth – to escape forced repatriation and stay in Port Elizabeth to support his family, he has fabricated his own death and assumed the identity of a local. The photo and the letter together serve as a poignant testament to his desperate measures for survival and familial duty.
