Synopsis

London, 1974

In a dimly lit theatre in Sloane Square, a radical experiment unfolds. Heathcote Williams, the notorious provocateur, presents Remember the Truth Dentist, a biting examination of the societal shackles of taxation, revolution, and death. As the eclectic cast of six actors and a musician navigate the labyrinthine narrative, they embody the frustrations of a Britain ensnared by landlords, taxmen, and other oppressive institutions. The audience is invited to witness the dissection of a nation’s psyche through Williams’ incisive lens.

This avant-garde production, directed by Ken Campbell, defies traditional theatre with its non-linear narrative and ensemble cast. Themes of politics, social inequality, and class permeate the dialogue, reflecting Williams’ anarchistic and utopian ideals. Its form is episodic, merging the raw energy of a revue with the depth of a full-length play.
