Synopsis

A village transitioning to modernity

Carlos, a tormented soul, wrestles with his fragmented memories, his paranoia fueled by a sense of impending doom. He confronts his brother Sergio with a harrowing accusation: their father abused him as a child. The revelation shatters the facade of their seemingly ordinary family life, exposing the fragile ties that bind them. As Carlos spirals deeper into his anguish, Sergio battles his own demons, torn between protecting the family’s honour and acknowledging a potentially devastating truth. Their parents, enmeshed in their own web of lies and guilt, navigate the fallout with a mix of denial and desperation.

This gripping drama explores the themes of abuse, family dynamics, mental health, and social inequality. The play’s tone is stark and intense, with a non-linear narrative that mirrors the fractured reality of its characters. Through sharp, visceral dialogue and haunting monologues, the play vividly depicts the turmoil within a family on the brink of collapse. The storytelling is raw and unflinching, revealing the dark undercurrents of a seemingly idyllic village life. As secrets unravel and tensions mount, the play lays bare the complexities of truth, memory, and the often painful quest for justice.
