Synopsis
Sagirgram, a rural village in India
Pooja steps off the dusty bus, the vibrant, chaotic life of Sagirgram unfolding around her. A Determined filmmaker, she arrives with her British boyfriend, Mitch, to document the lives of the local sex workers. The air is thick with tension and the weight of untold stories as they begin their work.
As Pooja and Mitch delve deeper, the village’s rhythms and rituals come to life. The camera captures the raw, unfiltered reality of their existence – children playing in the dirt, women drawing water from the well, the distant thump of drums marking another night of ritual and endurance.
Naresh’s sharp, evocative dialogue brings each character vividly to life, while the setting immerses the audience in the textured reality of rural India. The play is a poignant commentary on exploitation, resilience, and the struggle for agency within a rigid social hierarchy.
