Synopsis
David bursts into the well-furnished flat, breathless and battered, his presence a stark reminder of the world he’s trying to leave behind. Fresh out of prison, David is determined to escape his past, but his arrival unsettles the fragile stability that Kojo and Sharon have painstakingly built.
Agbaje’s incisive dialogue captures the raw, authentic voices of her characters, each grappling with the socio-economic traps that threaten to pull them back into a life they are striving to leave behind. The play is a powerful commentary on ambition, friendship, and the socio-economic barriers that shape their choices. The tension is palpable as the characters confront their past decisions and future possibilities, revealing the personal cost of their aspirations.
