Synopsis

Britain, 1970s

Val is a pragmatic young woman trying to make sense of her rapidly changing world. She works long hours, clinging to a semblance of normality, while Nobby, an idealistic activist, throws himself into the political fray, driven by a fierce desire for change. Their apartment, cluttered with protest flyers and vinyl records, becomes a battleground of ideologies and emotions, reflecting the tension between their differing worldviews.

As Val and Nobby’s relationship strains under the weight of their conflicting ambitions, the outside world intrudes in the form of their friends and fellow activists, each bringing their own stories of hope, disillusionment, and rebellion. Churchill’s sharp, evocative dialogue captures the essence of a generation caught between the promise of revolution and the harsh realities of everyday life.
