Synopsis

A dilapidated kosher deli in North London

The play features a foulmouthed cab driver, an old woman in a wheelchair who hears selectively, and a scantily clad waitress. The arrival of a nameless man triggers a series of revealing and provocative interactions. The characters engage in conversations filled with casual racism, bigotry, and personal revelations, pushing stereotypes to their limits. The dialogue is sharp and often grotesque, reminiscent of Beckett’s restraint combined with the outrageousness of Berkoff’s world.
