Synopsis
Burnside Town Square is abuzz with tension as the Mayor and his Assistant grapple with public speeches and a haunting tragedy that has scarred the town. The Mayor struggles to find the right words to unite a community shattered by recent events while avoiding any mention of Jackie Williams, whose untimely death still lingers in the town’s collective consciousness.
The narrative weaves through personal and communal struggles, from Owen‘s violent altercation at Burnside Hill College to the harrowing Burnside Prison scenes where Jamie confronts his actions and their consequences. The play paints a vivid picture of a town grappling with fear, guilt, and the need for justice, ultimately highlighting the fragility of human connections and the lengths people go to protect their sense of security and community.
