Synopsis

Josie Kerr, a poised and composed woman, steps into the harsh environment of a women’s prison to reconnect with her estranged mother, Fay. The play unravels in the waiting room and Fay’s small cell, capturing the raw emotions and uneasy attempts at rebuilding their relationship. As they navigate the suffocating rules of the prison and their own turbulent past, a delicate dance of discovery and confrontation unfolds.

Iron delves into themes of forgiveness, memory, and the complex bonds between mothers and daughters, all set against the stark backdrop of incarceration.
