Synopsis

The journey begins with the Narrator declaring their survival, despite a lack of sympathy for themselves. The Narrator recounts a trek through a vivid and eerie valley, encountering a strangely intellectual sheep obsessed with foxes. This surreal relationship highlights the Narrator’s inner conflict and the absurdity of their situation. As they explore the valley, themes of survival, human nature, and isolation emerge, illustrated through encounters with both real and imagined figures.

In a haunting recollection, the Narrator describes an encounter with God, depicted as a pitiful, bound figure hiding under a kitchen table. This disturbing vision explores themes of faith and disillusionment, questioning the very nature of divinity and human cruelty. The narrative shifts back to the valley, where the Narrator faces moral dilemmas, such as their decision to consume the sheep for survival. This act, while necessary, is fraught with guilt and symbolism, underscoring the harsh realities of existence.
