Synopsis

A cluttered living room combined with a kitchen in Didsbury

A panic attack plagues Vincent as he returns home. His interactions with his wife Daisy and their sons Leo and Raphi reveal deep-seated family issues, personal insecurities, and conflicts that surface through seemingly mundane conversations and chaotic outbursts.

The narrative explores themes of mental health, family dynamics, adolescent rebellion, and the impact of societal pressures. Nicholls’ writing vividly captures the chaos and noise of modern life, both literal and metaphorical, through the family’s interactions and the constant presence of music and media that defines their space. The play’s fragmented dialogue and sudden shifts in tone reflect the underlying turbulence within the family, highlighting the struggle to find peace and understanding amidst the noise.
