Synopsis

A South London housing estate

Meet Yemi and Ikudayisi, two brothers from different worlds on a collision course. Yemi, the younger brother, was born in the UK and struggles with his identity. Ikudayisi, raised in Nigeria, has just arrived in London, full of pride for his African heritage. As they navigate the challenges of their new reality – including confrontations with the police, local gangs, and prejudice from all sides – they are forced to confront what it truly means to be brothers.

Pulsating with the rhythms and energy of London’s streets, Gone Too Far! is a witty, thoughtful exploration of identity, culture clash, family dynamics, and the unique challenges immigrant communities face. Through the eyes of Yemi and Ikudayisi, the play delves into themes of racism, violence, and what it means to be Black in Britain. With an ensemble cast of vibrant characters and a narrative that crackles with authenticity and humour, Agbaje takes the audience on an unforgettable ride that will leave them laughing, thinking, and reflecting on the complexities of life in a multicultural society.
