Synopsis

The Woman recounts her relationship from its charming beginning to its devastating end. She meets her future husband in a queue for an easyJet flight and is initially repulsed by him. However, they fall in love, get married, and have two children. As the narrative unfolds, the Woman reveals the gradual disintegration of their relationship, culminating in a shocking and tragic climax that irrevocably alters her life.

The play explores themes of love, family, domestic violence, and loss. Through a raw and emotionally charged monologue, the Woman addresses the audience directly, sharing her story with dark humor and brutal honesty. Dennis Kelly’s powerful writing captures the complexities of modern relationships and the hidden horrors that can lie beneath the surface of ordinary lives.
