Synopsis

South Lebanon, Sidon, Beirut, and Shatila Camp

Ghalia, a determined adolescent girl, navigates a tumultuous journey in South Lebanon, facing societal constraints and personal trials. Set against the backdrop of a small village and expanding across various locations, the play chronicles Ghalia’s escape from a life of limitations imposed by tradition and familial expectations. As she travels through a landscape scarred by conflict and patriarchy, Ghalia encounters a host of characters that shape her path, including her authoritarian mother, the supportive but conflicted Aunt Diba, and numerous others who embody the diverse struggles of the region.
