Synopsis

A seedy hotel room in America and a luxurious suite in England, where dreams become a dangerous commodity.

Cody, a man with the supernatural ability to predict horse race outcomes in his dreams, finds himself held captive by ruthless gangsters. Chained to a bed in a squalid hotel room, Cody struggles to maintain his gift under the constant pressure of his captors’ demands. As his predictions begin to fail, the tension mounts, leading to a drastic change of scenery and a desperate plan by the gangsters to surgically extract Cody’s talent.

Shepard’s surreal and darkly comic play explores the exploitation of artistic gifts and the commodification of the extraordinary. Through Cody’s plight and eventual rescue by his brothers, the play offers a biting critique of how society treats visionary individuals. Geography of a Horse Dreamer blends elements of crime thriller, absurdist comedy, and poetic meditation on the nature of talent, challenging audiences to consider the price of dreams in a world obsessed with profit.
