Synopsis

A working-class neighborhood in Staten Island, where the digital world collides disastrously with everyday life.

In this gripping drama, Eddie, a blue-collar family man, becomes entangled in a dangerous online relationship with Arnold, a manipulative teenage boy. As Arnold coerces Eddie into creating explicit videos and ultimately arranges a real-life meeting at the Staten Island dump, the play charts the devastating impact of this deception on Eddie’s family and psyche. The seemingly safe distance of the internet gives way to a shocking confrontation that shatters lives and exposes hidden vulnerabilities.

Through its unflinching exploration of a family in crisis, the play delves deep into themes of masculinity, sexuality, and the dark underbelly of online interactions. With raw, visceral dialogue and a structure that builds to a devastating climax, this work forces audiences to confront uncomfortable truths about desire, power, and the fragility of domestic happiness. The playwright’s use of the Staten Island dump as a pivotal setting serves as a potent metaphor for the toxic waste of secrets and lies that threaten to bury Eddie’s world.
