Synopsis

1970s Salford, England

George’s dream of raising a traditional Pakistani family clashes with the British upbringing of his children. His wife, Ella, a strong-willed British woman, often finds herself as the mediator in this cultural tug-of-war. Amidst fish-and-chips and Quran lessons, each child, with their own quirks and aspirations, navigates the choppy waters of dual heritage.

“East is East” is a vibrant celebration of a family that is as maddening as it is endearing, embodying the chaotic harmony of a multicultural blend.
