Synopsis
The pulsing neon of an Ealing nightclub bled into the stark reality of London’s streets
Drag-On, follows the journey of a street-wise teenager whose world was turned upside down by his attraction to a transvestite. Set against the gritty backdrop of West London’s club scene, the play plunged audiences into a neon-lit exploration of desire, identity, and the exhilarating terror of self-discovery.
De Nascimento, wrote with the raw authenticity of youth and the wisdom of an old soul. Drag-On peeled back the sequined curtain on the world of drag, revealing both its glamorous allure and harsh realities. Through razor-sharp dialogue and characters that pulsed with life, the play challenged preconceptions about sexuality, masculinity, and societal norms. It celebrated the power of transformation, both on stage and in life, forcing questions about where performance ends and true self begins.
