Synopsis

A decaying cityscape. Peter stands alone, his eyes fixed on a faded photograph of his long-vanished mother.

Peter becomes increasingly consumed by the mystery of his mother’s disappearance. His relentless quest for answers leads him through a labyrinth of crumbling streets, encounters with shadowy figures, and the unearthing of long-buried family secrets.

Nagy’s narrative skillfully intertwines Peter’s personal journey with broader themes of societal neglect and disillusionment. As Peter’s sister Sarah grapples with her own inner turmoil, the play explores the ripple effects of loss on family dynamics. Through a series of tense, often surreal scenes, Disappeared delves into the nature of memory, the construction of identity, and the desperate human need for closure.
