Synopsis
Femi embarks on a tumultuous quest for self-discovery in DeObia Oparei’s provocative play. Set against the chaotic backdrop of a theatre troupe rehearsing “Othello” in Peckham, the narrative plunges into the complexities of race, gender, and sexual identity. Through his multifaceted personas—ranging from a Shakespearean actor to a male prostitute—Femi navigates a whirlwind of wild characters and intense fantasies, seeking to uncover his true self amid the confusion.
The play combines elements of drama and comedy, creating a vibrant tapestry of modern identity crises and self-discovery. The non-linear narrative mirrors Femi’s turbulent internal journey, while the raw and often explicit content challenges societal norms and expectations.
