Synopsis

Roland and Marianne’s love story defies the boundaries of time and space in Nick Payne’s mesmerising play “Constellations.” Through a series of fragmented, non-linear scenes, the play explores the infinite possibilities of their relationship across parallel universes. Each scene presents a different version of their lives together, from their first meeting to moments of love, infidelity, illness, and separation, creating a rich tapestry of what could be.

Set against the intriguing backdrop of quantum mechanics and string theory, the play explores themes of love, choice, and the nature of the universe. It is a drama imbued with romantic and philosophical elements, structured in a non-linear narrative that challenges the audience to contemplate the myriad outcomes of a single relationship. The minimalistic settings emphasise the profound emotional and intellectual connection between Roland and Marianne.
