Synopsis

Set in a rural community, the play revolves around the lives of several women as they navigate the societal and personal challenges of their time. The narrative unfolds through a series of scenes that depict their struggles with childbirth, superstition, and the oppressive male-dominated society. The women, including Rose, Mary, and Jane, come together to support each other, challenge societal norms, and fight for their rights in a world that seeks to control their bodies and destinies.

The play explores themes of female empowerment, superstition, and the fight for women’s rights. It is a drama with elements of historical realism and social commentary, structured in a linear narrative with episodic scenes that highlight the personal and collective journeys of the characters. The settings are varied, including homes, a meeting room, and outdoor spaces, reflecting the daily lives and struggles of the women.
