Synopsis
A sterile TV studio and the shadowy corners of memory, where past traumas bleed into the present.
Rosa Sabato, a celebrated journalist haunted by her past, takes centre stage in a televised interview about her latest book. As the cameras roll, Rosa’s carefully constructed facade begins to crumble, revealing the raw wounds left by her experiences in war-torn Chile and the heart-wrenching disappearance of her son.
Lars Norén’s Blood is a searing exploration of trauma, identity, and the price of survival. Through a series of fragmented scenes that blur the lines between past and present, the play delves into the complexities of Rosa’s relationships with her husband Eric and her lover Luca. Norén’s unflinching dialogue and innovative staging create a claustrophobic atmosphere that mirrors Rosa’s internal turmoil. As the boundaries between public persona and private anguish dissolve, the play raises provocative questions about the nature of truth, the power of memory, and the possibility of healing in the aftermath of unspeakable loss.
