Synopsis

Tadworth, Surrey, Summer 2013 – Spring 2014

Francesca, a lively thirteen-year-old, forms an unexpected bond with her estranged uncle Tommy in the dusty attic of her Nana’s house. Their secret hideaway, filled with forgotten relics and whispers of the past, becomes a stage for their unfolding relationship. Amid giggles and games, a darker undercurrent emerges as Tommy’s troubled history begins to surface. Francesca’s youthful innocence collides with Tommy’s cryptic behavior, creating a tension that is both captivating and unsettling.

As they navigate their hidden world, layers of family secrets and personal trauma are peeled away, revealing a poignant and complex dynamic. The attic, a microcosm of their shared and separate histories, serves as the perfect backdrop for this exploration of innocence and hidden darkness. Through a blend of humor and raw emotion, “Beastie” paints a vivid portrait of the fragile and intricate bonds that tie us to our past and to each other.
