Synopsis
Sadhbh is an Irish humanitarian worker in the Democratic Republic of Congo. As she investigates war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by dangerous individuals like Colonel Jerome Mburame, Sadhbh faces personal and professional challenges. Along with her colleague Mathilde and her boyfriend Stephen, Sadhbh navigates the complexities of working in a conflict zone, dealing with the aftermath of a brutal attack on their compound, and the strain it puts on her relationships.
Feehily’s play explores themes of human rights, the psychological toll of humanitarian work, and the blurred lines between personal and professional lives in the context of a war-torn country. With its non-linear structure and shifts between Congo, London, and Ireland, “Bang Bang Bang” offers a thought-provoking and emotionally charged look at the lives of those working to make a difference in one of the world’s most challenging environments.
