Synopsis

Amy is a determined year six pupil who discovers she has a baby sister named Lily living in Cornwall with her biological father. Amy’s journey begins when she finds out about Lily through her father’s Twitter account, which her mother and stepfather had been keeping secret from her. Despite her mother’s reluctance to discuss the matter, Amy becomes increasingly curious about her sister and father.

Baby Sister is a one-act play with a linear narrative, featuring a small cast of characters. The play is divided into short, episodic scenes that take place in various locations, such as Amy’s bedroom, her school, and her father’s house in Padstow. The dialogue is simple and easy to follow, making it accessible to a wide audience. While the play deals with serious themes of family separation and reunification, it maintains a lighthearted and optimistic tone throughout, focusing on the power of love and the importance of family bonds.
