Synopsis

Nadira returns to District Six, Cape Town, to piece together her family’s past, a quest that blends memories and reality in a hauntingly evocative exploration of displacement and identity. The narrative shifts between 1974, when her family faced forced removals, and 2013, as Nadira and her British partner Benjamin navigate the now unfamiliar streets. Nadira’s journey is a poignant attempt to reconcile the stories told by her mother, Aziza, with the stark, empty spaces of her ancestral home. The play vividly captures the emotional landscape of a community torn apart, juxtaposing the innocence of childhood games against the harsh realities of apartheid-era South Africa.

“All Who Pass” is a testament to the indomitable spirit of those who endure and remember, painting a vivid, human portrait of a family’s quest to reclaim their place in a world that has tried to erase them.
