Synopsis

A series of vignettes unfold on stage, capturing life under occupation in Palestine

Alive from Palestine: Stories under Occupation offered a raw, human perspective on Palestinian life, cutting through the numbing headlines of violence and political manoeuvring. This powerful production by the Al-Kasaba theatre group presents a series of improvised snapshots, both tragic and comic, illuminating the daily struggles and resilience of Palestinians living under Israeli occupation.

The play served as both a cathartic experience for its Palestinian audience and an eye-opening one for international viewers. Through its episodic structure and documentary-style approach, Alive from Palestine offered a glimpse into a vibrant culture fighting for survival amidst oppression. The production navigated the challenges of creation under occupation, with its very existence an act of resistance against attempts to stifle Palestinian cultural expression.
