Synopsis

The eighties

In the apiary, Alice’s fractured psyche is mirrored by broken furniture and unseen activities, where she confronts her alter ego, AL. This surreal environment highlights her struggles with mental health and self-worth, vividly painting her battle against domestic pressures and alcohol dependence.

By the gasworks wall, Alice’s encounter with Jimmy, a figure from her past, unfolds in a dilapidated urban landscape. Their nostalgic and regret-filled dialogue underscores the passage of time and unfulfilled dreams. At the airport, the sterile setting amplifies Alice’s sense of displacement and isolation, revealing deep marital fissures with her husband, Bill, and exploring themes of identity and belonging in a disjointed reality.
