Synopsis

A fluid space that shifts between past and present, where love and pain intertwine across generations

A and B, a couple caught in a tempestuous relationship, navigate the highs and lows of their intense connection. Their story is mirrored and expanded upon through MAN and WOMAN, who represent the same characters at a different point in time. Their daughter, YOUNG WOMAN, becomes both witness to and victim of her parents’ complex dynamic. As the play moves fluidly between timeframes, we see how patterns of love and conflict repeat and evolve across generations.

tucker green’s poetic and fragmented dialogue creates a visceral emotional landscape, capturing the nuances of intimate relationships with unflinching honesty. The play’s non-linear structure allows for a layered exploration of how past and present inform each other, while its minimalist approach focuses attention on the raw power of words and silences. Through its examination of love’s complexities, generational trauma, and the struggle for genuine connection, the play offers a deeply moving meditation on the enduring yet often painful nature of familial bonds.
