Synopsis

Athens, on the eve of a royal wedding. The forest outside the city teems with magic and mischief as mortals and fairies alike are caught in a web of love and confusion.

As Theseus, Duke of Athens, prepares to wed Hippolyta, four young Athenians find themselves entangled in a complex love quadrangle. Hermia loves Lysander, but her father insists she marry Demetrius, who is pursued by Helena. The lovers flee into the nearby forest, where the fairy king Oberon and his mischievous servant Puck wreak havoc with a magic love potion. Meanwhile, a group of amateur actors, led by the bombastic Bottom, rehearse a play for the Duke’s wedding, unaware they too will fall victim to fairy mischief.

Shakespeare weaves together three distinct worlds – the aristocratic court, the enchanted forest, and the rustic labourers – in a tapestry of comedy, romance, and magic. As identities shift and passions are misplaced, the characters grapple with the fine line between dreams and reality.
