Zinnie Harris

Zinnie Harris is a Scottish playwright, screenwriter, and director known for her politically and emotionally resonant works, often blending personal narratives with larger social and ethical issues. Her original plays, such as Further than the Furthest Thing (2000) and How to Hold Your Breath (2015), explore themes of power, displacement, and identity, frequently set against backdrops of societal collapse. Harris is also recognised for her adaptations of classic texts, such as her reimagining of The Duchess of Malfi and Ibsen’s A Doll’s House, where she brings a contemporary and feminist perspective to traditional works.
