Zia Ahmed is a poet and playwright from North West London. He was shortlisted for Young Poet Laureate for London 2015/16 and is a former Roundhouse Poetry Slam champion. He has written short pieces for the Royal Court’s Living Newspaper: Edition 5 and Living Archive: Vol 1 and his debut play I Wanna Be Yours, premiered at the Bush Theatre. He is a recipient of the Royal Court Theatre Jerwood New Playwrights Programme 2021 and is currently under commission by the Royal Court.
