Suriya Aisha

Suriya Aisha is an artist, activist, and producer working in the cultural and community sector. She is the founder of UNMUTED – a network for LGBT people of colour in Birmingham and the Co-Director of Colours Youth UK, a youth LGBT organisation. She is passionate about creating spaces for the most marginalised communities.

Aisha’s play Nine Nights was performed in the Wilson Studio during the Royal Court’s Live Lunch Spring 2015. In 2016, she hosted a Tedx Talk titled What more is there to say about LGBTQ Issues? Aisha also hosted the podcast SickBabe, a series of conversations investigating the relationship between invisible disabilities, capitalism, and life in between.
