Simon Stephens is a British playwright and teacher known for his wide-ranging and emotionally resonant plays. His early work, including Herons (2001) and Port (2002). Stephens achieved international recognition with his adaptation of Mark Haddon’s novel The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time (2012), which won numerous awards, including the Olivier Award for Best New Play. Stephens’ writing often examines the complexities of human relationships, trauma, and the search for meaning. His plays, many of which have been staged at the Royal Court Theatre, include Punk Rock (2009) and Heisenberg (2015).
