Lucius Annaeus Seneca the Younger was a statesman, philosopher and dramatist of Ancient Rome. As a writer, he is known for his Stoic philosophical works, and for his plays, which are all tragedies. Seneca wrote ten tragedies, a few of which are adapted from Ancient Greek tragedies. Some of his most notable works include Medea, Phaedra, and Thyestes which have received multiple adaptations through the centuries.
