Eve Leigh is a British playwright and theatre maker whose work integrates themes of technology, disability, and audience interaction. Her first major work, an adaptation of The Dybbuk (2008), was staged at the King’s Head Theatre. Leigh’s play Silent Planet (2014) followed at the Finborough Theatre, exploring themes of censorship and the power of storytelling under political oppression. At the Royal Court Theatre, her play Midnight Movie (2019) examined the digital realm and chronic pain, aligning with her continued focus on multimedia and accessibility in theatre.

Leigh’s writing is characterised by its experimental structure and engagement with the audience, often incorporating multimedia elements to enhance storytelling. Her commitment to accessibility and inclusivity in theatre has been recognised through various platforms, including the selection of Midnight Movie for the Stückemarkt at the Berliner Theatertreffen in 2020.

Eve Leigh spoke to Simon Stephens in S5 Ep3 of Playwright’s Podcast.
