EV Crowe is a British playwright known for her explorations of gender, identity, and power dynamics. After studying at the University of East Anglia and completing the Royal Court’s Young Writers Programme, Crowe’s breakthrough came with Kin (2010), a play about the relationships within a boarding school, staged at the Royal Court Theatre. Her writing often deals with the psychological and social forces that shape individuals, particularly young women, as seen in her subsequent works like The Sewing Group (2016). Crowe’s bold approach to structure and dialogue has garnered her recognition as a distinct voice in contemporary theatre.
Crowe spoke to Simon Stephens in S2 Ep9 of Playwrights Podcast.
