Clare Lizzimore is a British theatre director and playwright. Her production of Bull earned the Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in an Affiliate Theatre in 2015. She has served as resident director at the Citizens Theatre in Glasgow and as staff director at the National Theatre. Her directorial work includes premieres of new plays such as Robert Holman’s Jonah and Otto at the Royal Exchange Manchester and Leo Butler’s Faces in the Crowd at the Royal Court. As a playwright, Lizzimore’s debut play, Mint, premiered at the Royal Court in 2013. Her radio play Missing in Action aired on BBC Radio 4 in 2014. Her second play, Animal, examined themes of mental health and personal identity, and premiered at the Studio Theatre in Washington, D.C., in 2015. It was nominated for the Charles MacArthur Award for Outstanding New Play or Musical.
