Clara Brennan

Clara Brennan is a British playwright and screenwriter known for her socially conscious and dynamic writing. Her play Boa, starring Dame Harriet Walter, premiered as a reading at the HighTide Festival in 2014 before opening at Trafalgar Studios in 2015. She has won the OffWestEnd Adopt a Playwright Award and the Channel 4 Playwright’s Award for The Vendor.

Brennan’s other works include Kid a Kidder for the Royal Court’s series, Spine, The Wing, and Hi Vis, along with contributions to Theatre Uncut such as Pachamama. Her play Bud Take the Wheel, I Feel a Song Coming On was staged at the Edinburgh Fringe, and Rain, part of Lough/Rain, was performed at York Theatre Royal. Brennan’s writing is known to explore complex human experiences.
